5 fresh eggs
½ cup of milk
1 cup of sugar
100 g castor sugar
1 baking soda
1 vanilla extract
125 g butter
100 g chopped walnuts
3 cups of flour
Separate the whites from the yolks.
Beat the yolks and the sugar with a mixer. Gradually add in the flour, the baking soda, the vanilla extract and the walnuts and mix them with the spatula. Add to this mixture the whites, beaten until light and frothy and the castor sugar.
Pour the melted butter into the baking tin, arrange the sliced pears and add in the ready mixture.
All this is baked for about 45-50 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 180 C. By the end you can check if your cake is ready using a toothpick.
When the cake is done, switch off the oven and leave the cake inside, then it can be turned.
